This summertime hot spot on the Frio River is a fun and relaxing getaway where people come to camp and float the river. With a choice between tubing or kayaking, and camping options including tents, cabins, RV pads and suites, Andy’s on River Road has something for everyone.

Located in Concan, TX just south of Garner State Park, Andy’s on River Road is about 1.5 hours west of San Antonio. A popular summer vacation spot, reservations need to be made well in advance to ensure accommodations will be available. The river is usually busy near the shuttle drop-off and pick-up spots in Concan but the crowd thins out along the route. Andy’s is a family-friendly location and regulations are enforced to ensure everyone has a good time.

Activities

Tubing/Kayaking

Guests can choose from a variety of tubes and kayaks to rent for their float down the river. The Frio offers a kid-friendly float at a relaxing pace, great for all ability levels, but don’t expect to be traversing any serious rapids. Float times vary greatly depending on the water level, so be sure to call ahead.

Shuttle service is available for drop off and pick up at all three of Concan’s major river crossings. Andy’s on River Road is NOT located directly on the Frio River, so all guests need to coordinate transportation through the shuttle or a third party.

Camping

Vacationers can opt for varying levels of “roughing it”, including tent camping, RV pad sites, cabins or even a suite above the Andy’s on River Road store.

Both pets and alcohol are permitted, but all campers are required to adhere to all regulations that help maintain a safe and family-friendly atmosphere. The tent camping area is available for families only and the grounds include amenities such as picnic tables, fire pits, restrooms, water and electricity for each campsite.

All accommodations require advanced reservations. Guests planning to visit during the busy summer season are encouraged to book several months in advance.
